Connect Carson to another MCP client

Before you start

Your client needs to support remote MCP servers over HTTP that sign you in with OAuth. Clients that only run MCP servers on your own computer cannot connect. Check your client's documentation, and whether your plan or your admin allows custom connectors.

Steps

  1. In Carson, open Settings, choose the AI Agents tab, and select Copy next to Server URL.

  2. In your client, add a remote MCP server (some clients call it a custom connector or an app) and paste your server URL. Choose OAuth if it asks how to sign in, and leave any client ID and secret fields empty.

  3. Connect. Your client opens Carson's sign-in page: sign in with the account you use for Carson.

  4. Review the permissions Carson asks for and accept.

  5. Turn Carson on for a conversation, if your client asks you to, and ask a question.

Also see what each permission means, what you can ask, or what to do if it does not connect.
